What Is Marin County Doing About Homelessness?
Marin County is the biggest funder of homeless services in the county and is a leader in transforming the homeless system of care. We are proud to work across County departments, with the cities, and with our community partners to create a unified system to help house people and keep them housed.

Marin released a new report measuring homelessness mortality and capturing substance-related causes of death using an innovative approach. Our findings show that people experiencing homelessness are dying at higher rates and younger ages than the general population. We aim to shed light on this devastating, under-researched issue, inspire action that could save lives, and encourage others to do the same. We are proud to share this on a national stage through partnership with National Health Care for the Homeless Council.

The Division of Homelessness and Whole Person Care has just launched a way to help support our mutual efforts to end homelessness in our community. By placing this image—which we’re calling a “badge”—on your website and linking it to Marin HHS’s Housing First website, https://housingfirst.marinhhs.org, we can raise awareness of our combined efforts to address homelessness and highlight your organization’s role in supporting this outcome. To obtain copies of the badge, please contact marinwpcquestions@marincounty.org.
